A discrete field contains distinct, separate values and is often categorical. A continuous field, on the other hand, represents a range of values and is typically numerical. Discrete fields are used for dimensions, and continuous fields are used for measures.

The Tableau Repository is a directory on the computer where Tableau Desktop is installed. It contains configuration files, logs, and other settings related to Tableau. The default location is 'My Tableau Repository' in the 'Documents' folder.

To create a trend line in Tableau, right-click on a measure in the view, hover over 'Trend Lines,' and choose the appropriate type (linear, logarithmic, etc.). Trend lines help in identifying patterns and trends in data.

A Tableau Workbook (TWB) file is a XML-based file that contains the information necessary to connect to a data source, define calculated fields, and organize the layout of worksheets and dashboards. It does not store the data itself but rather the metadata for the workbook.

To create a parameter in Tableau, right-click on a blank space in the Data pane, select 'Create Parameter,' and define the parameter properties. Parameters allow users to create dynamic and interactive elements in the workbook.
